Looking for a fun & easy craft to do with your little ones this week? You’re going to love these DIY Bubble Wands.

This craft only requires a few supplies, is very easy to make, and once finished makes a fun outdoor activity you can do with your kids, perfect for summer!

I’ve also included a recipe for “Bouncing Bubbles” in this blog post. The bouncing bubbles soap recipe makes particularly strong bubbles. So if you put on some winter fabric gloves or mittens, you can bounce or catch the bubbles in your hands!

Instructions for DIY Bubble Wands:

  • To start, select the color of pipe cleaner you’d like to use for your bubble wand.
  • Next, tightly string various pony beads onto your pipe cleaner leaving about 1” of space at the bottom. Fill your pipe cleaner about halfway up with beads.
  • Take the bottom 1” of pipe cleaner, loop it around the bottom bead, and string it back through the beads to secure the end. This is the handle end of your bubble wand.
  • Lastly, bend the top half of your pipe cleaner into whatever shape you would like and twist the end around to secure it. Your DIY Bubble Wand is now ready to use!

Bouncing Bubble Soap Recipe:

  • Pour ¼ cup of warm water into a small bowl and add 2 tablespoons of white granulated sugar.
  • Stir well until all the sugar is dissolved.
  • Pour 1 Tablespoon of dish soap into your sugar-water mixture.
  • Stir gently to combine.
  • Let the bubble solution cool to room temperature if the water you used was warm. Then your bouncing bubble solution is ready to use.

To use:

  • Dip your new DIY Bubble Wands into the bubble mixture and blow bubbles as usual.
  • Put a winter glove or mitten onto one hand to catch the bubbles or bounce them off of your hand!
