Hugging Heart Friendship Art

This Hugging Heart Friendship Art requires very few supplies and is super simple to make. It is also a perfect way to teach your kids about friendship in a creative and fun way.

Supplies:

Steps:

  • To start, select two different colors of construction paper to be your “hugging heart friends”. Draw half of a heart and one arm on both pieces of paper.
  • Cut out your heart halves and arms and glue the heart halves together to create a full heart on a piece of white paper.
  • Next, fold both of your arms like accordions.
  • Put glue on just the ends of each paper arm and stick them to your heart. Match the arms to their corresponding colored sides. The arms should look like the sides of the heart are hugging. See the image below for reference.
  • Use a marker to draw faces on both sides of the heart.
  • Lastly, using a marker write “A good friend is…” on the top of your paper. Next, brainstorm the qualities of a good friend with your child. Write the qualities you come up with all around your hugging heart.
