These adorable and easy Painted Rock Garden Markers require only 3 supplies, leave lots of room for creativity, and are the perfect addition to any vegetable garden.

Do this craft with your kids at home, or this would be an easy craft for any kids’ ministry event or Sunday school lesson on The Parable of the Sower or The Fruit of the Spirit.

If your kids are like mine and LOVE collecting rocks, then you may have an excess to use for this craft. But if you don’t live in a particularly rocky area, or have a shortage of smooth paintable rocks, here is a link to a Rock Painting Kit that includes rocks.

If you’re looking for more garden-themed crafts, snacks, activities, or my full Bible lesson on the Parable of the Sower, check out this week’s Weekly Fun Plan: Sowing Seeds!

Steps:

  • To start, brainstorm what vegetables or fruit you would like to paint or make a list of the plants you currently have in your garden.
  • Prepare a paint palette with all the colors necessary to paint the fruit or veggies you have chosen.
  • Next, select the sizes, shapes, and amount of smooth rocks you would like to paint. Make sure to wash and dry your rocks first.
  • Paint each rock as a different fruit or veggie in your garden. When the paint is dry use the rocks as garden markers to show you where each particular crop is growing in your garden.
