If you’re looking for a fun and easy painting craft to do with your kids this week, try making this Paper Plate Donut.

This craft requires very few supplies to make and once your kids are finished they can hang it up as a fun piece of donut art, add your name and make it a cute name sign, or add a Bible verse and save it as a reminder of this week’s lesson about how Jesus teaches us “do not worry”.

If you’re looking for more donut-themed crafts, snacks, activities, and a corresponding simple Bible lesson to do with your kids, check out this week’s Weekly Fun Plan: “Donut” Worry!

Steps:

  • To start, use some scissors to cut a decent-sized hole in the center of your paper plate. It may help to trace a container lid or something circular you have around the house. (See image for size reference. Approximately 3-4″ in diameter.)
  • Using brown or tan colored paint, cover the outer edge of the plate completely.
  • Next, use pink or another colored paint to paint the center of the plate to create your frosting. Let it dry
  • Using puffy paint, define your frosting area by outlining it and creating various colored sprinkles, then let it dry.
  • Lastly, you can leave your donut as is, or once your paint is dry use a marker to write a name, Bible verse, or message onto your finished donut craft and you’re done!
