Paper Plate Earth

This super cute Paper Plate Earth requires very few supplies or steps and creates a fun colorful piece of art for you to hang up and enjoy. Perfect for Earth Day!

Do this craft with your kids at home, or this would be a great craft for any kids’ ministry event or Sunday school lesson on the creation story.

Supplies:

supplies needed to make paper plate earth craft

Steps:

  • To start, using any or multiple shades of blue, paint a paper plate. Be sure to cover the entire plate then set it aside to dry.
  • Using any skin-colored construction paper trace two handprints. 
  • Cut out your handprints and set them aside for later.
  • Next, cut up multiple small squares of green tissue paper.
  • Once the paint on your plate is dry, glue your small green tissue paper squares all over your plate.
  • Your plate should now look like the earth with some green land areas and blue oceans. 
  • Lastly, glue your two handprint cutouts to your earth to make it look like it’s being held. This would be a great time to discuss with your kids how God created everything and He holds the whole world in his hands! After that, you’re done!
