Salt Snowflake Art

Looking for a fun winter craft that can double as a simple sensory activity? Try making this Salt Snowflake Art.

This craft only requires a few supplies, is very easy to make, and your kids will love playing with and sprinkling the salt.

Supplies:

Steps:

  • To start, pick out whatever color of construction paper you’d like to use for your background. Darker colors will have more contrast with the white salt and may look better.
  • Using a white crayon draw a large snowflake in the middle of your paper.
  • Next, using some liquid glue trace along all your crayon lines creating a snowflake pattern out of the glue.

  • Carefully place your paper onto a cookie sheet to keep from making a mess. Using simple table salt generously sprinkle salt all over the wet glue. Make sure to cover all of the glue areas.

  • Lastly, carefully shake off the excess salt into your cookie sheet or garbage, set your picture aside, and let it dry fully. Once dry, enjoy the 3D crystallized art you’ve just created!
