This Coffee Filter Flower craft only requires 3 things to make. It looks beautiful and detailed but it’s surprisingly simple to create!

These make the perfect springtime decor to add to your coffee table, a sweet long-lasting gift for a friend, or a fun activity for any flower-themed party or event. Make them by yourself, with your friends, or they’re simple enough you can do them with your kids just like I did.

If you’re looking for more flower-themed crafts, snacks, activities, and my corresponding children’s Bible Lesson check out this week’s Weekly Fun Plan: Grow in Faith.

Steps:

  • To start, pull out 4 plain white coffee filters. Cover each of them completely in watercolor paint. These will eventually make the petals of your flower so choose whatever colors you think would look nice. Then lay them flat and set them aside to dry fully.
  • Once your coffee filters are completely dry you are going to fold each of them in half 3 times. This will give you a ⅛ sliver of a circle. Once you have your ⅛ sliver cut off the top two corners to make a rounded top. See the image below for reference.
  • Once you folded and cut all 4 of your coffee filters you are going to open them up completely to reveal your flower shape.
  • Next stack 2 coffee filters one on top of the other, press one finger into the center of the coffee filter stack, and scrunch the two filters into a cone-type shape around your finger. Repeat with the remaining 2 filters. See the image below for reference. Once you complete this step you should have 2 scrunched stacks.
  • Now you’ll want to pinch the endpoints of both your petal stacks together and using your green pile cleaner tightly coil your pieces together. If you’d like to add glue on top to extra secure it you would do so now however it is now necessary.
  • Lastly, you’re just going to gently spread apart your petals to fluff up your flower a little more. Work with it however much you need to get to your desired flower look. And that’s it you’re done!
