Painted Plate Cross Art

This super cute Painted Plate Cross Art requires very few supplies and creates a colorful Easter picture to enjoy.

Do this craft with your kids at home, or this would be a great craft for any kids’ ministry event or Sunday school lesson on Good Friday, the Resurrection, or Easter.

Steps:

To start, using whatever colors of paint you have or like, paint a simple sunset scene on your paper plate. Be sure to cover the entire plate then set it aside to dry.

Using black construction paper cut out a small cross shape. Then using yellow construction paper trace your child’s hand and cut out the handprint.

Once your paint is dry, glue your handprint to the center of your plate then glue the cross on top of the handprint. Make sure the fingers are pointing up to give the illusion of sun rays.

Your plate should now look like the cross with some sunshine and a sunset behind it. You can leave your artwork as is or use a marker to write a simple Easter message. I wrote, “He is Risen!” & “Happy Easter!” on mine. After that, you’re done!
