Steps:
- To start, we need some small microphone-sized cardboard tubes. You can purchase small cardboard tubes at the link above but if you have some empty toilet paper rolls or empty paper towel rolls to recycle, those work perfectly. If you are using old paper towel rolls, be sure to cut them in half so they are not so long.
- Using aluminum foil scrunch a piece together to form a ball bigger than your cardboard tube opening. You can also purchase small foam balls or plastic ball pit balls to use instead if you want to save on foil.
- Once you have a ball shape, take another piece of aluminum foil wrap it around the ball then secure it together into a point. See the image below for reference.
- Place the point of your foil shape into the cardboard tube and secure the foil ball onto the top of your tube with clear tape. It should now resemble a microphone.
- Next, measure your cardboard tube on your favorite color of construction paper and cut out a strip long enough to wrap and cover the entire tube. Secure the paper onto the tube with more clear tape.
- Lastly, use markers, crayons, stickers, or other craft supplies you may have on hand to decorate the outside handles of your microphones. You now should have the perfect pretend microphone to use for your next at-home musical performance.
