If you’re looking for a fun snack to help teach your kids about the days of creation, you’ll love this Creation Story Trail Mix recipe.
This recipe requires a handful of easy mess-free ingredients and can be quickly whipped together for a few kids or a bunch. Increase your serving sizes of each ingredient and feed a whole Sunday school class or large kids’ ministry group.
It’s easy to make and tastes great, and this recipe is meant to help you explain or remember the days of the creation story. Here is what each ingredient represents:
Day 1 – God created light and separated it from the darkness
- Mini Oreos = dark & light
- Substitution option: milk chocolate chips & white chocolate chips
Day 2 – God created the sky (atmosphere) and waters.
- Mini Marshmallows = clouds in the sky
Day 3 – God created land, plants, trees & fruit
- Chex = dry land
- Raisins/Fruit Chews = fruits
Day 4 – God created the sun, moon & stars
- Popcorn = stars
Day 5 – God created the birds in the air & fish in the sea
- Goldfish = fish
Day 6 – God created the animals on the land, man & woman
- Animal crackers = animals
Day 7 – God rested
- Rest and enjoy your “creation” of this trail mix!
