Fall Leaf Spray Painting

I know for me it wouldn’t be Fall in Michigan without all the beautiful changing colors in the trees. So of course with our “Fall Leaves” theme on the blog this week, I had to make sure to include multiple fall crafts full of color. These Fall Leaf Spray Paintings were so much fun to make, the kids had a blast using the spray bottles and collecting leaves, and it gave us a great reason to get outside and enjoy God’s wonderful creation.
This craft is the perfect one to do in mid-October with so many leaves changing and dropping! It is a little more messy, so I would recommend doing this one outside if possible. Supplies:
- Spray Bottles (You can also find these at the dollar store)
- Nontoxic Paint
- Water
- Cardstock Paper
- Painters or Masking Tape
- A Variety of Fall Leaves
Steps:
- Go out into your yard, take a walk around your neighborhood, or go to a local park and collect a variety of types and sizes of leaves.
- Place your collected leaves onto your Cardstock to figure out the spacing you like.
- Take some painters or masking tape and gently tape down your leaves. Just enough to keep them in place.
- Pick out whatever colors of nontoxic paint you’d like to use. Using a 1:1 paint-to-water ratio, mix your spray paints into your spray bottles.
- Spray your paper all over. You can use just one color or a mixture of a few different colors.
- Let your artwork dry then carefully peel off the leaves and tape to reveal your gorgeous Fall leaf paintings.
