If you’re looking for a quick and easy Christmas craft to do with your kids this year, look no further than this Dot Marker Christmas Lights craft!

They are not only simple, colorful, and fun to make but once you’re finished they make cute Christmas artwork to be hung up around the house. My kids wrote their names on each of their pictures and used them as the perfect holiday door sign.

Steps:

  • First, take your Sharpie or black marker and draw a fun curly line across your white paper. See the image below for an example.

  • Next, draw small squares along the line you just drew, spaced approximately 1” apart. These will be the sockets that each of your “lights” will hang off of.
  • Lastly, use your dot markers to add different colored dots to each light socket. This should result in a cute string of Christmas Lights across your paper. If you do not have Dot Markers, you can also use ink pads or paint and your finger to make the lights.

  • You can either leave your craft at that or if you want to take it a step further use your black marker to write “Merry Christmas” or your child’s name on the artwork.
