3D Lion Paper Craft

This 3D Lion Paper Craft requires very few supplies, can be made in a matter of minutes, and creates an adorable piece of animal art.

Do this craft with your animal-loving kids, for a jungle-themed party, or any kids’ ministry event/Sunday school lesson on Daniel in the Lion’s Den or Noah’s Ark.

Supplies:

• Construction Paper (yellow & orange)
• White Paper
• Glue
• Markers
• Scissors

Steps:

• To start, draw an approximately 3” diameter circle and a 3” wide semi-oval type shape onto your yellow construction paper. Cut out both shapes. Next, cut out about 15 strips of orange construction paper, ½” wide by 5-6” long. See the image below.

• Using a piece of white printer paper portrait-wise, glue down your semi-oval shape to the bottom center and the circle right on top of that. See the image below. This will be your lion’s body and head.

• Next, fold all of your orange strips of paper in half.

• Put glue on one half of each strip and press them down around the entire circle. The opening of the fold should be away from the face. They should be popping up to give the 3D effect of the lion’s mane.

• Once the mane is complete, use a black marker to draw on the lion’s features. Draw on some eyes, ears, nose, mouth, whiskers, legs, and paws. That’s it, you’re done!
