Who doesn’t love ice cream, especially when it comes with a scoop of God’s Word? This adorable craft is all about learning the sweet truths of Scripture in a hands-on way that kids will love.

For this craft, I’ve created a free Sweet Truths Ice Cream Coloring Page that you can download and use with your family or ministry. Each scoop of ice cream includes a “sweet truth” about God along with a Bible verse on where to find that truth.

The Bible verses referenced are:

With this craft, kids will color, cut, and glue scoops of ice cream to create their very own “Sweet Truth Sundae”. Not only is this a fun and creative project, but it also gives children a list of encouraging Bible verses they can return to, while simultaneously helping them memorize this week’s memory verse, Psalm 34:8.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. – Psalms 34:8

This makes it the perfect activity for families, Sunday school classes, or kids’ ministry groups!

Supplies:

Steps:

  • Using scissors, carefully cut out all the scoops of ice cream and the memory verse banner. (If you’re using this craft in a classroom setting or with little ones, this part can be the most time-consuming and needs a steady hand with scissors. So you may want to do this prep ahead of time.)
  • Next, take a piece of brown construction paper and cut out a half circle or bowl shape.
  • Then, using a brown marker, draw some criss-crossing lines to create your “waffle cone bowl”.
  • Using a glue stick, glue your memory verse banner, waffle cone bowl, and ice cream scoops onto a piece of construction paper to create your Sweet Truths Sundae.
  • Lastly, cut out a small circle of red construction paper and a small sliver of brown to create a little cherry for the top of your sundae. Use glue to secure it down, and you’re all done!
