If you’re looking for a simple and sweet craft to do with your kids this Christmas season, you’ll love this Beaded Christmas Gift Ornament craft.

This craft only requires a few supplies and the action of placing beads onto a pipe cleaner is a great hands-on activity for young children to improve fine motor skills.

Make this ornament for your own family Christmas tree or practice this week’s lesson of giving and generosity by gifting this ornament to someone you love.

Supplies:

Steps:

  • Take one pipe cleaner and string on some beads until the pipe cleaner is filled. Leave just about a ½ inch of space empty on each end.
  • Twist the ends of the pipe cleaner together to secure all the beads, creating a circle. Next, bend the circle of beads into a square shape with the twist at the top center.
  • Take your other pipe cleaner, secure it to each side of your square shape, then cut it to size.
  • Using the remaining piece of pipe cleaner repeat this step but in the opposite direction. You should now have a cross on your square. This will help it to look like a wrapped present while also securing your square shape.
  • Next, tie a small bow with some ribbon and cut an additional piece of ribbon to be the loop to hang your ornament with.
  • Using a hot glue gun, secure a loop of ribbon to the back of your ornament.
  • Once dry, flip the ornament over and glue your bow to the top of the square. Once the bow is dry, your ornament is complete!
